Importing tables, as opposed to moving, is only available for logical partitions as its main purpose is to make relations between different partitions, even databases, visible on the diagram canvas - this can be done using a simple dialog that can be open by using the "Import Table Shortcuts" entry on the contextual menu of an open partition diagram.

This will open a modal dialog where tables than need to be imported as shortcuts in current partition diagram can be selected, optionally related tables can be moved together with the selected ones - parent, child or all related tables.

To select tables first select the database from the drop down on top of the page, doing so all tables from the selected database will be visible into the list on the left side of the table selection area. Select a specific table from the list and either use the Add button bellow the list or just double click on it to move it into the selected tables list on the right side, to remove a table from selection use the Remove button or double click on it in the selected tables list. To make it easier to find the tables into a larger database the search box on top of database tables list can be used to filter the tables into that list, when typing into the search box only the tables those name start with the search text (case insensitive) are shown.

The selected tables list will also show the exact location of the table, the parent partition where the table is currently located - it can be a database, a storage area or a logical partition.

Importing a table shortcut from another diagram does not have any effect on table's relations nor it does change the location of the tables as only their visual representation is created on the diagram canvas and this is shown by a shortcut decorator on the left-bottom of the table box.

For quickly importing tables related to one of the existing table in the diagram is to use one of the entries in Import Related Tables group of the contextual menu shown when a table is selected on the canvas - this applies to both regular and shortcut tables.
