Properties editors are wizard like modal dialogs that can be used to easily set the most common properties for diagram elements. Those can range from a simple one page wizard for database, partition, area to more complex ones for table, field and indexes.

Depending on preference settings the properties editors are also used when a new diagram element is created so that basic properties of the object are set on creation instead of having to set each property thought the properties view.

For diagram elements that have a diagram attached - database, partition, area - the properties editor for the object can be open with a simple double-click on the diagram itself for all others the double-click must be on the diagram element.

The wizard can be closed at any time by pressing the Finish button once the minimum information has been provided, when a new element is created from the diagram palette there is an additional button - Add new.. that can be used to save the changes (just like the Finish button) and immediately restart the wizard to create a new element.

Choosing to cancel the wizard when multiple elements were created using Add new... option no element will be created, the whole operation will be cancelled not just the last element.
